Heart care should do more than read the results.

It should connect the symptoms you feel, the evidence we find and the life you want to keep living.

Common questions

Before your cardiology visit.

Can I see an English-speaking cardiologist in Shanghai?+

Yes. Request an English-speaking appointment when you contact the patient services team. Language availability should be confirmed for your preferred physician and date.

Do I need a referral?+

A referral is generally not required for a private cardiology consultation. Send any previous ECGs, imaging, laboratory results and your current medication list if available.

What happens at a first cardiology appointment?+

Your cardiologist will review your symptoms, medical and family history, medications and cardiovascular risk. An ECG or other testing may be recommended based on that assessment.

Can you assess chest pain?+

The cardiology team evaluates stable or recurring chest pain by appointment. New, severe or worsening chest pain—especially with sweating, breathlessness, fainting or pain spreading to the arm, jaw or back—may be an emergency. Call 120 in China.

Do you treat atrial fibrillation in Shanghai?+

The department assesses atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias, including diagnostic monitoring, medication review and specialist rhythm-management planning. The appropriate treatment depends on the individual diagnosis.

Can you help with insurance?+

Patient services can check whether direct billing or a guarantee of payment may be available. Coverage depends on your insurer and policy; confirmation before treatment is recommended.
